Don't hate the individuals.....hate the iron clad hold this man made organization has on otherwise rational people and the way they are often rendered unable to use their logic and reasoning skills to free themselves even when they clearly realize what is happening to them. I include you in this comment as you obviously know something isn't right and are visiting this site and possibly others yet can't seem to grasp how anyone would be angry. -

As EACH image would fade to black or transition to the next image the screen would display the logo for their website for 1 second and then disappear. Really bizarre. Saturated advertising for sure.
Just couldn't have Jesus upstaging the Governing Body again this year...just who does he think he is?

I would rather be in the JW cult than the ex-jw cult
by questioningmyfaith ini have posted one other time on this website.
just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.
some did give me some help on my questions.

I pretty much do not believe in god. This gives me a peace of mind concerning the false things I have been taught since I was a boy. I sometimes wish that I wasn't raised a witness but I know that I learned a number of great lessons as one.
I understand what your are saying and I have identified quite a few positive aspects of having grown up as a JW myself. Having said that, I also realize that even children who came from abusive homes or who lived during extremely difficult times in history, are able to glean fond memories and positive aspects of their childhoods. However fond memories, plentiful social contacts and positive experiences, do not mean a religion is teaching the truth.
I understand your feelings about the sometimes negative tone of some of the discussions here. I have felt this way at times but I remind myself that having grown up in the JW environment where people weren't free to express their true feelings about the world around them, may have left me a bit more sensitive than I need to be and it may have made myself and others former JW's here a bit unskilled at expressing ourselves in an appropriate manner, at times. For many of us here, this is the first time we have been part of a discussion group and we are in the process of learning how to share in an online discussion and how to sand the rough corners off the words that we'd otherwise get away with using in person because our tone of voice and facial expressions help convey our intent.
For me there is always something interesting to learn here but one does have to learn how to filter things out, learn not to take things personally and or skip over topics or posts that appear to be negative just for the sake of being negative. I also know that if one is on the lookout for offenses committed by others (very popular nowadays) they are sure to find them. That's why when navigating our way through the rough aspects of life, It's often better to put on a pair of slippers, rather than to try and carpet the whole world.

I brought up Candace Conti and Lopez. They stated that these were just slander against JW you cannot belieive what you read.
Unless you read something favorable about JW's....then you can count on it being 100% accurate but the rest of the time it's all lies.

Well I spilled it to the elders (elder)
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inan elder came over for a visit the other night (he couldn't get a partner) personally i consider him a friend and have revieiled many things to him an figured the tie has come to step out of this religion slowly.. well i finally told him i have no believe in the bible (other then the confirmed history in it) or god.
i did it slowly and tactfully and even non-agressive.. his response to learning i believe in evolution was that evolution doesn't happen now i respectfully disagreed and pointed out lactose and alcohol tolerance among the last thousand years as well as tibetian lung/hearts.
he refused to believe it.

But I firmly explained at this point I would not drag my wife down. He knows I support her no matter what she chooses
Drag your wife down where? Do you mean drag her down to your low level of existence as a non JW?

Lost on how to respond...

the story goes like this when we were jw's:.
- this guy used to be madly in love with me but i didn't see him as anything more than a friend.

Seriously take that into consideration. No matter what you have done Jehovah has the ability to forgive you.
Dear ____, It never ceases to amaze me how mere humans such as yourself continually make assumptions about the spirituality of their fellow man. They believe they have the authority to interpret and judge the status of other peoples relationship with their heavenly father and assume they are unaware or have forgotten about the forgiveness he offers to us all. Some even go as far as to insinuate that others are in need of an extra measure of his forgiveness .
Thanks for your misdirected concern and once again, I send my condolences to you and your family.

Rework of the JW Childrens project to coerce them into giving more.
by notjustyet ini tool the jw image and edited it so that it would look like it was made by the catholics to .
entice their children to give their money to the catholic church.. if you have any jws that have not seen the original yet, give this to them and let them paint themselves into a corner slamming the catholics for stooping so low and then let them in on the fact that it originated with the jws.. .

Since they are "captives of the concept" that Jehovah is directing the Governing Body of JW's, they'd simply say that teaching children to give money to fund and support the organizations projects IS the same as teaching them to be generous to our heavenly father.
To them, this example is not comparing apples to apples. They view Catholics as part of Babylon the Great and anyone supporting them (even children) are supporting Satan, therefore when JW's ask for money....it's ok. When Catholics ask for money....it's not.

Lady drives car into Kingdom Hall
by Sugar Shane inright smack into (what looks like) the front entry!.
http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2016-03-13/78yo-female-driver-crash-jehovahs-witnesses-church/7243268.
this was in australia, but the khs i've seen (in the us) are designed so that you'd have to almost intentionally want to ram a building to cause this kind of damage.
